#1 – I Have A Dream – The Starting Point of Everything

Opening

I have a dream: that one day, we will reach self-actualization.

Self-actualization means realizing one’s potential. It leads to a more meaningful and fulfilling life.

We will evolve in the way we think, and we will develop our character to a higher standard.

Think of the Renaissance, the Age of Enlightenment, the Scientific Revolution, etc.

To reach self-actualization, we need:

  1. The place – The School of Athens
  2. The mindset – The Renaissance
  3. The livelihood – Patronage

The School of Athens

A place where great minds come together, where knowledge and ideas are shared and discussed.

Ideas build upon ideas. This is where wisdom is born.

Future generations inherit the wisdom of the past, serving as a guide in the modern world.

The Renaissance

When we embrace the cultural mindset of the Renaissance, we are encouraged to think critically and be curious.

It brings us closer to self-actualization, just like the great minds who lived during that period of time (think of Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Raphael, Galileo Galilei, etc.).

We lay the foundation for future generations, so they may inherit our ideas, experiences, and wisdom, and build even further upon them.

Think of how the Renaissance led to:

  1. The Scientific Revolution
  2. The Age of Exploration
  3. The Age of Enlightenment

Patronage

I don’t think anyone can reach their fullest potential if what is on their mind on a daily basis is financial struggles.

So the last point will be Patronage.

When we are free of worries about our basic living needs, we can focus on reaching our fullest potential as human beings.

And we will be able to pursue knowledge, creativity, and self-development.

Patronage means financial and social support given by organizations or wealthy individuals to artists and scholars.

In modern days, the patrons may be slightly different (like our customers, sponsors, supporters, employers, etc.).

Closing

The great minds of the modern day come together at a place similar to The School of Athens.

The cultural mindset that we can adopt from the Renaissance.

And the Patronage that allows us not to worry about our basic living needs.

I believe they act as the foundations that enable us to reach self-actualization.

This blog marks my first step toward achieving that dream.

Thank you for reading.

Writer's Notes

Publishing the first blog is one of the most important milestones of any content creator.

I’ve been thinking about what content to write for my first blog for a few days.

And I’m happy that I finally found the answer I was looking for.

The first draft was written on 28 Jun 2025.
